The Selangor FC Women's Team will start their campaign in the National Women's League 2022 competition on the 4th of June, this Saturday at the JSA Arena, Setia Alam after two years of not being able to play competitively.

According to Izzat Salihuddin, Assistant Team Manager, this is a new Selangor FC Women’s team that was built precisely for a long term planning in mind as a result of the  between Selangor FC and FA Selangor.

"Before the establishment of the Selangor FC Women's Team today, we, the coaching staff, have examined the achievements and previous matches to find strengths and weaknesses to improve the team. In addition, we also study the opposing team in preparation for the start of the league.

We have also conducted a closed-door selection session and called on potential players to help the team according to the long-term plan that has been paired. They were all ‘scouted’ through the FAS Women’s Super League tournament last January.

A total of 29 of our players managed to register and more than half of the team is under 23 years old. This is in line with the long term targets that have been planned. We want these potential young players to get early exposure in order for them to play more maturely in the near future. They are also surrounded by several national players to get a proper balance of experience and youth in the team, "he explained.
